  •  What treatments are available?

    Benenden Hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services. Full details of the treatments and services can be found on the Benenden Hospital website.

  •  Is Benenden Hospital a private hospital?

    Benenden Hospital is an independent trust hospital with charitable status.

  •  What is Benenden Hospital?
    Benenden Hospital is a subsidiary of the Benenden Healthcare Society Limited and provides high quality elective medical and surgical services for Benenden Healthcare members. The hospital can also provide treatment for private and self funded patients as well as NHS Choose and Book patients.
  •  Do I need to be a member of Benenden Healthcare Society to be treated at the hospital?
    No. As well as Benenden Healthcare Society members, Benenden Hospital takes NHS Choose and Book, private and self-funded patients. However some of the patient groups are not able to access every service. For further information please visit the Benenden Hospital website or contact Benenden Hospital for further information.
  •  How can I get an appointment?
    The route for getting an appointment depends on whether you are a member of the Benenden Healthcare Society, an NHS patient or a private or self-funded patient. The Member Services department can assist Benenden Healthcare members with any queries. You can contact them on 0845 052 5720* (8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays). Other patients are invited to Contact Benenden Hospital for further information or call the hospital's central booking service on 01580 240333*.
  •  What facilities are available for disabled visitors?

    There are two disabled parking bays situated directly outside the main Hospital entrance and a further two bays in the main car park opposite the main building. You should be aware that the roadway slopes down to the main entrance.

    There is level access to ground floor wards and clinics, and lift access to other parts of the Hospital building.

    Wheelchairs are also available for use. You can contact the Hospital Reception on 01580 240333* to organise this in advance of your attendance. Lines open Mon- Fri 7:30am - 8pm, Sat -Sun 8:30am - 8pm. Out of hours calls accepted.

  •  How do I get to the hospital?

  •  Who are the Friends of Benenden Hospital and the RM Society?

    The Friends is the fundraising body for the hospital and should be used by patients and others who wish to make a donation to the hospital's work.

    The RM Society (Supporters of Benenden Hospital) is run by volunteers and other interested parties to generate additional income for the Hospital.

  •  Are there parking facilities at Benenden Hospital?

    The hospital has two large free car parks. The main car park is situated on Goddard’s Green Road opposite the main hospital building.

    Cars should not be left on site while you are an in-patient.

  •  What food and refreshments are available?

    The hospital’s 'The Café' serves hot and cold snacks, beverages between 7.45am and 6.30pm including Saturday and Sunday. It is located on the top floor of the surgical block in the main building.

    The Dining Room serves hot and cold snacks, hot meals and beverages between 11.30am and 2.00pm (Monday to Friday only). It is located in the Administration Building.

    Vending Machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks are located outside the Jubilee clinic, the Day Surgery Unit waiting area and in the Dining Room.

    The shop and Post Office situated in main reception sells various items including confectionery (open between 9.00am and 4.00pm).

Benenden Healthcare membership is initially available to current or former employees of the public sector, and other approved organisations whose aims and objectives are deemed compatible with those of the Society. Examples of such employers are the Post Office, Civil Service, BT, mutual organisations and not-for-profit organisations. Employees or members of approved UK-registered charities, co-operatives or credit unions are also eligible. Some services have a six month qualifying period.

The Benenden Healthcare Society Limited is an incorporated friendly society, registered under the Friendly Societies Act 1992, registered number 480F. The Society’s contractual business (the provision of tuberculosis benefit) is authorised by the FSA. The remainder of the Society’s business is undertaken on a discretionary basis.
