  •  How do I set up a Corporate Healthcare scheme?

Setting up a Benenden Healthcare Corporate scheme is quick and straightforward to do. Simply call our dedicated corporate team on 0845 052 5730*(9-5pm, Mon-Fri, excluding Bank Holidays) and they will be able to start the process over the phone. Following your phone call, they will send you out all the relevant information you will need to complete the process, which will include:

    • Your letter of agreement
    • Your summary of the key facts

You will also be required to complete your member listing so that we can ensure that every member of your staff is included in your scheme – this is an Excel spreadsheet which you will need to populate with the details of all of your employees.

Once these steps have been completed we can set your payment plan up according to your preference, and discuss with you a suitable payment option (although we would usually receive payment via BACS).

You will be allocated a Corporate Account Manager once your scheme has been set up, but if you have any questions or problems along the way, our corporate team will be more than happy to assist you.

  •  How do I make changes to my corporate scheme?
Whether you have a member of staff leaving your organisation or a new member joining, we can help you make the changes you need. Simply call our corporate team on 0845 052 5730* (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, excluding Bank Holidays) or email us on corporate@benenden.org.uk and let us know what change you would like to do, and we’ll ensure that your request is dealt with promptly.
  •  How do I contact my Corporate Account Manager?
Your dedicated Corporate Account Manager is always happy to take any questions or problems you might have regarding your scheme. Contact details for all of our Corporate Account Managers can be found on our sales team section of the website. You can also expect regular face to face meetings with your Corporate Account Manager at a time convenient to yourself. We want to ensure that you and your staff are receiving the level of care and support that you expect from us. •  Can employers and employees access other products or services once they've joined Benenden Healthcare?

As part of their Benenden Healthcare membership, your staff will also have exclusive access to our online Members’ Area, where they will be able to access a wealth of health and wellbeing information designed to help them and their families take control of their own health and wellbeing.

In addition to the healthcare protection your staff receive as part of their standard membership, corporate scheme members aged between 16 – 65 (inclusive) are eligible to join the Benenden Health Cash Plan, which provides reimbursements towards dental, optical and other treatments that are not covered as part of their Benenden Healthcare membership scheme. The Cash Plan is available at no extra cost to the employer, and staff can set up a separate direct debit to cover the cost of membership. What’s more, a single monthly payment is guaranteed to cover their spouse or partner and any dependent children under the age of 18.

The Cash Plan product is administered by the Friendly Healthcare Organisation Limited (FHOL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Benenden Healthcare Society. FHOL is an Appointed Representative of HSF health plan Limited, which is the insurer of the Cash Plan. Further details about the Cash Plan and the various levels of cover available to your employees can be found on the Benenden Health Cash Plan website.

  •  How can your corporate healthcare scheme help reduce sickness absence rates?

Offering a healthcare scheme such as ours is a clear indication that your organisation cares about the health and wellbeing of your workforce. It can also act as an important addition to your staff benefit package, which in turn can help to improve staff retention and the recruitment of high quality employees, whilst also improving the staff morale and motivation amongst your existing employees.

For information about the cost savings and for information on how we may be able to help you to control sickness absence rates please visit the Corporate Healthcare website.

  •  What is the benefit to our organisation of having a corporate scheme?

The benefits are simple: your staff feel valued and an effective corporate healthcare scheme may also help to reduce your sickness absence rates and associated costs.

Your staff will have access to the discretionary healthcare services they need, when they need them most, including some out of office hours.

As part of our commitment to healthcare excellence we also encourage our members to take a more proactive approach to managing their own help, which in turn benefits you as an organisation. Our free, on site health days and our library of health and wellbeing information can provide staff with the resources they need to manage their own health, which is a valuable preventative measure when fighting sickness absence in the workplace.

  •  Can employees set up family healthcare with your scheme?

Absolutely – and this can be done at no additional cost to you the employer.

    • Corporate members can set up a separate Direct Debit to cover the cost of their friends and family
    • Alternatively, they can add friends and family to their membership at no additional cost to themselves. In this instance, their friends and family members can join their membership and set up their own Direct Debit from their bank account.

Family and friends can join at the same great rate of £1.50 per person, per week, regardless of age of medical history.

In the first instance, we would advise your staff to contact a member of the Benenden Healthcare Member Services team on 0845 052 5733* (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri) who will be able to talk through the available options.

Please note, if your staff become a member of the Benenden Health Cash Plan, their Cash Plan cover is guaranteed to include their spouse or partner and any dependent children under the age of 18.

  •  What happens to staff who are already Benenden Healthcare members and are currently paying for their own Benenden Healthcare membership?
Those staff paying by Direct Debit will be forwarded a letter to communicate the changes and their payment will begin to be deducted from their salary. Once they receive this letter, they will need to cancel their Direct Debit and inform our membership team of their Direct Debit cancellation. Their membership will be continued and they will not be required to complete their six month qualifying period again. They will also be offered the opportunity to continue paying for any friends and family they may have on their membership via Direct Debt.
  •  How long do my employees have to be members before they can ask for help from you?

Your staff will have immediate access to our advisory and preventative services, giving them access to a range of services that are designed to fit around their busy lives. Amongst these services, staff can expect to receive:

    • 24/7 access to a UK registered GP, 365 days of the year through our GP advice line. Your staff can access medical advice outside of working hours and from abroad.
    • 24/7 Counselling Helpline for any member of staff who may be experiencing personal difficulties that are causing emotional stress. Through our signposting service, we can help to ensure that your staff access the help they need, when they need it most – regardless of the time of day
    • Access to a range of helplines and specialist healthcare support groups through our Health Concern Advice Line, providing your staff with the help and support they need to seek further help to tackle a wide range of medical conditions or health related issues.

Our diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services are available after six months of membership.

For further information, read the ‘how to access services’ section of this website.
