Excellence award for York healthcare society’s magazine
benhealth, the magazine for members of the York-based Benenden Healthcare Society, the mutual healthcare provider, has scooped a prestigious Award of Excellence, after just four editions.
The Award comes from the British Associaiton of Communicators in Business (CiB) in their “Publications for members” class in Europe’s biggest and most prestigious corporate communications competition. benhealth is now shortlisted for the Class Winner and that award will be announced towards the end of May.
In their appraisal of the entry, the judges made the following remarks about benhealth:
“The magazine clearly works hard to support Benenden Healthcare Society’s organisational goals, with the common sense approach hitting the mark with readers. The news section was packed with well written, accessible and interesting items and the feature items were nicely varied.”
This latest win follows similar success in 2006 and 2007 when benhealth’s editorial strength was recognised with awards in CiB’s Best Writing category. Leeds-based Geronimo Communications produce the magazine, working closely with Benenden’s in-house marketing communications team.
Jean Scott, Acting Member Services Director at Benenden said:
“Benhealth is delivered to more than 375,000 of our members and 14,000 GPs across the UK. Each edition covers a wide range of healthcare topics and carries a number of carefully selected advertisements. The reaction so far from readers has been extremely positive and our in-house team will be working with Geronimo to ensure the early success we’ve enjoyed with benhealth continues.”
